New Orleans baby photographer {Isla}

Isla was one of the most beautiful baby girls I have ever photographed. And she came with a BIG personality. She was dancing and showing off that big beautiful smile the whole time.

Her session was in January which is chilly but does have some mild days. Lucky for us it was pretty mild because her momma loved little pinafores as much as I do and wanted to do a special mermaid set-up…more about that later. We started in the studio as I always do to give the children at my session a bit of a chance to warm up to me before we sweat….or freeze outsite. Because you know in Louisiana, there is no in between lol. I just adore her studio portraits. She had the most expressive eyes.

ISLA 11 MONTHS

The little outfits I have from Mia Joy Studio are always a favorite. Her momma brought the most precious purple coat. And the funniest thing, when she showed me some photos for inspiration at her consultation they were taken by a dear photographer friend in Canada! How funny is that? Lesley, of Freckled-faced Photography, is so talented. I told her I couldn’t provide the snow they get here in southern Louisiana lol.

We had a ton of trees fall down with Hurricane Ida last September. My husband got rid of most and I’m sure would like to clear them all out, but some fell just perfectly and look so pretty I told him I need them on the ground for a little while before he burns them.

This last photo was a special request from her momma. She LOVES mermaids and they have a special meaning to her. So naturally, we did a special setup. She brought this mermaid tail for Isla. We do have a small pond on the property and it turned into the perfect little spot! Of course, we had to bundle her up as soon as this was finished as the sun was going down and it was getting chilly! But this sweet girl was such a trooper. Smiling big smiles until the end.
