6 week old newborn mini session {Mandeville Newborn Photographer}

You know I love a good newborn mini session.  Short and sweet and so much fun.  Harper was a little older than my typical “newborn”.  She just made 6 weeks which is still a newborn but my goodness the size difference in 1 week old newborns vs 6 week old newborns is amazing.  They grow SO fast!  Photographers do stress how it is important to get newborn photos by 7 days old.  Yes, it makes things easier and babies are tinier and curly, BUT you can totally still get “newborn” type photos up to 2 months.  Some parents don’t realize they want them until after baby arrives and they see how incredibly fast they are growing and decide they want to document them being so small.  And newborn photo sessions do so in a beautiful way.  And I’ve said it before…..quality over quantity…..Miss Harper now has a beautiful collection of images to display in her nursery.  Which by they way is pink and grey 🙂

So how perfect are these going to look in there?!?  She has the MOST incredible hair.  It was soft and flippy and there was SO much of it!  I had to think of a way to highlight it.  So crazy photographer lady clipped a blush backdrop to the front of my light and put it on side of her to darken the image and give a silhouette effect that still showed detail.  If that made any sense lol!  I just looooove it.  One of my favorite photos.

And some more pink for this sweet girl.  It’s so funny because she is the niece of an old friend and she looks just like her and her mom!  Strong genes there.

I wanted to challenge myself and see if I could do the froggy pose with her.  I’ve done it with babies up to one month old and even did the froggy pose with my 18 month old (I know!) so I knew it was possible.  Well, she did it like a champ!  And it is oh so cute with her older newborn chubbiness.  Love…
