New Orleans Maternity Photographer {Lauren 35 weeks}

It was so nice meeting this sweet couple who are new residents to New Orleans. They will be here for just a few short years so what a better way to remember their time here and their first pregnancy than with a maternity session under the gorgeous moss-covered oak trees.  It had rained all day Saturday and the air was frigid.  Poor Lauren had to bundle up in between locations and hop over mud puddles.  I knew that without a pretty sunset I wanted to find patches of color for her photos at Fontainebleau State Park.  

I looked high and low and tried to utilize every colorful leaf I could find, even if that meant shooting in very different locations from my usual spots.  This was also quite a challenge because in Louisiana we have mostly evergreens and not many color-changing trees.  I have to say, I think I was pretty successful.  For this being the most gloomiest day of the year for a session, I think it was my brightest one yet.  And Lauren was glowing!  Her smile so bright and filled with love.  It was a beautiful session.

Lauren 35 weeks and counting…

I just adore all of the Christmas scarves she brought.  It was perfect this time of year.

I saw this beautiful tree with red and orange leaves but it was so large and the leaves were so high.  I tried to position them just right so that the color filled the space behind them.  I just adore how it turned out!

Then, I saw in the distance the most incredible sight (at least to a photographer).  A tree with low branches with the MOST beautiful red and orange and yellow and green leaves! I may have squealed inside.  This was so rare here and in all of my years of shooting here I have never noticed this little tree.  Probably because it is only colorful for a day and will soon be brown.  So off we went through the mud and water to this beautiful tree.  I am SO glad we did!  Lauren looked absolutely amazing in her red dress and nature complemented her perfectly.

Had such a wonderful evening with this sweet couple! Despite all of our obstacles, I just love how their session turned out.   So excited to meet their sweet baby in just a few short weeks and to find out what they are having!
