So you would think here we are in September. Fall is just around the corner. The weather should be cooling off soon. Wrong! Not in southern Louisiana. I think some days have been hotter than August. I was hoping for a relatively cool evening for Erika’s maternity session. We certainly didn’t get that. It felt like one of the hottest evenings of the year. I can only imagine how uncomfortable it is to have been pregnant in the heat. But you would have never known with these two. Spirits were up, love in the air, and you could totally see the excitement about their upcoming arrival.

I don’t know how I’ve never seen this little fruit bearing tree at the park before! It is too tall for kids and kind of in an odd location but I just had to use it! So maybe this photo is more for me but I sure do love it.
We were walking back to the car just as the light was getting really pretty. I always had to make sure John was standing in the direction I wanted Erika to look. Because when he was there she would give the sweetest smiles.
There were a few photographers out and about that evening so I had to wait for my favorite tree. By then we were all hot and sweaty but I think it was definitely worth the wait. Even though their heads were sticking together at this point lol.
Such a sweet session! Looking forward to meeting their precious baby boy in a few short weeks.
