New Orleans Maternity Photographer {Beth}

Normally I am pretty good at keeping up with life: school, lesson planning, teaching, photography mentoring, family, photo sessions, editing, blogging…..and all of the everyday stuff not mentioned. But this year I find myself struggling to catch up.

I am not complaining in the least bit. I love being busy and staying busy but my type A personality struggles with not marking things off of my to do list fast enough. Low and behold I have fallen behind with blogging which I actually enjoy to do. I love sitting down to look at a completed session and think of the planning and excitement that went into it. I feel very proud 🙂

Stunning maternity session under the large oak trees in Louisiana

This beautiful mother to be contacted me last minute about a maternity session. She was visiting New Orleans and wanted nothing more than to have her maternity session amongst our beautiful oak trees.

I am completely booked through February but when I sensed the excitement in the words of her emails and found out she was coming from COLORADO I knew I had to figure something out.

We had a narrow window to work around my limited schedule, her time in NOLA and the weather. It had rained alllll week. I was able to squeeze her in on a Thursday afternoon after a day of teaching. I rushed home after work, grabbed my camera and head out the door. Boy was I exhausted, but the moment I met her and felt her excitement, it all melted away and I was reminded that this is my love and passion. It will never be work for me but more of a therapy.

Then I found out this beautiful pregnant momma got off of her plane from Colorado at around 1 pm, got to her hotel and got ready and took an Uber to meet me 1 hour away at Fontainebleau State Park in Mandeville for her session. I couldn’t believe it! So I needed to step up my game to make sure she had a great experience. Luckily, even though the weather was awful all week, it was overcast but we didn’t get a drop of rain. And on a Thursday evening, there was not a soul in the park.

I stopped on the way to get Beth some flowers. These flowers were perfect with a baby boy on the way and her pretty green dress!

You could feel Beth’s excitement from her very first email and feel their love for each other and their sweet little baby from the moment they stepped out of the car. I know at this point they were starving lol. I wish I would’ve had snacks!

What a special session this was! I am so honored this beautiful couple chose me to photograph such a special time in their lives. I wish them nothing but the best!

Now booking 2020 maternity sessions. If you are interested in scheduling a session, fill out my contact form today.
