Maverick Day 5 {Madisonville LA newborn photographer}

Jennifer contacted me in September for her newborn session for her son due in January.  You know every parent that brings their most prized possession to me for their first photos has a different journey to parenthood.  For some it’s relatively easy.  They decide they want to start trying and instantly fall pregnant.  Some couples struggle with fertility and have many ups and downs before they finally place a baby in my arms.  Some parents journey includes something that no parents should ever have to face, the loss of a child.

 Sweet Jennifer was hesitant in booking her session right away because she had experienced the loss of her first son.  The term rainbow baby has been floating around for a few years and I really love it.  A rainbow baby is a baby born after a loss that gives hope of things getting better.  Just as a beautiful rainbow that follows a storm.

Last weekend, Jennifer placed her precious rainbow in my arms for his first photos.  And he couldn’t have been more perfect.

I mean really……is there anything sweeter than a brand new baby in a bear bonnet?  Probably not.

He was such a tiny little peanut.  He loved being wrapped up nice and cozy.

I know our journeys are all different, but that moment when the baby is placed in their mother’s arms for the family photos and the dads wrap their arms around momma and for that instant their whole world is right there.  Then they breathe in that sweet new baby and every thing is perfect.  The reaction is the same.  Pure love.

 I’m so grateful for the opportunity to capture Maverick in a way that he will never be again…brand new.

If you are interested in a newborn session of your own, contact me early as my calendar fills up about 2 mths in advance.
