Mary Kate ~6 days old {New Orleans newborn photographer}

This was a surprise session.  Kristin didn’t know whether she was having a boy or girl so to get the email that the baby was here and was a GIRL was pretty exciting!  We went with pinks and creams and I’m saving some touches of grey for their family photos this weekend 🙂  When they walked in the door I peeked into the car seat and saw the MOST amazing head of hair.  I couldn’t believe it.  It was so soft and had the most gorgeous highlights I have ever seen on a baby.  And she looks stunning in pink and cream.

Mom and Dad did so well getting her ready for her session.  She slept like a champ and was so easy to pose.  And did I mention that hair……..

I am obsessed with that series of pictures.  If I got to do my girls newborn photos over again, I would do this exact set-up.  I love love love cream set ups and this matched her skin tone perfectly. So simple and classic but I love how the focus is all on her.   Sometimes a photo just needs to be in black in white….

Last but not least, we wrapped her up in the sweetest little wrap and put her teeny tiny body in a teeny tiny bowl <3

It’s amazing how just changing the angle completely changes the look of a photo.
