Mandeville Newborn Photographer {Ellie 6 weeks}

It’s so nice having the summer months off from teaching so that I can sqeeze in as many sweet babies as possible.  Amy contacted me wanting to schedule a newborn session with her sweet little girl Ellie.  She was 6 weeks old.  But….she came into this world about 6 weeks early so she was still teeny tiny.

Newborn sessions are usually scheduled when baby is about 7 days old so that they are nice and sleepy and posable.  I knew it would be a challenge but I also knew that no matter what I could give her precious images of her baby girl even if she were wide a wake the whole time.

So Amy followed my instructions.  She prepped her baby girl as if she were a few days old and we hoped for the best.  Let me tell you, this girl slept harder than many week old babies that come to my studio.  She was amazing.  And a perk to her being a little bit older….she had the BEST chubby cheeks!

Ellie 6 weeks

I know we are not even close to Easter, but I just could not resist.  I am obsessed with baby’s dressed as baby animals and Ellie made just about the cutest little bunny ever so I feel this was necessary.

She has the daintiest little features.  Her tiny folded hands just about melted me…

Amy chose mint as an accent color for Ellie’s session which I love.  After seeing a picture of her, I thought she would look beautiful against this darker mint color….and she does.  But I think this sweet girl would look adorable in just about anything you put her in.

If you have had a session with me, you know my space is teeny tiny.  Amy was so funny.  She would come in to peek at what set up Ellie was in and would get so excited when she saw just how stinking cute she was.

I know I already did the bunny set up with her but I heard her momma call her affectionately “Ellie Bear”. So obviously, a bear bonnet was a must.

I was a bit nervous unwrapping her and trying the bucket shot because she was so much older and thought for sure she would wake up… and she did….but at least I got this first.  Look at those cheeks!

Last but not least we did family photos.  Her big brothers came by to get in one. This sweet girl will be pretty well protected growing up.

I know the last thing a new mom wants to do is get in photos.  But I feel like these aren’t for us.  These are for our babies who are go to look back at these and cherish them.  They show how small you once were and how you fit perfectly in your mothers arms.  And most importantly, they show the love on her face and the happiness in her eyes when she finally gets to hold in her arms what she longed for and dreamt about for so long.  They are my favorite.

The photos with dad are extra special too.  These really show just how tiny baby is when you place them in dad’s hands.

It’s funny how someone so small can have such a great impact on two people.

Can you tell from looking at this bunch at how spoiled rotten she is going to be?! The little princess in the family.

So grateful Amy contacted me for sweet Ellie’s newborn photos.  It is such an honor to be a part of such a special time in their lives.
