This is one of those sessions where I was just counting down the days until it took place.  I met Brandie last year when she gifted her sweet sister a newborn session with me for her precious daughter, Sophie.  It was one of my most favorite sessions because they are the sweetest people on the planet.  I was beaming ear to ear when they left.  When I found out last year that Brandie was expecting herself, I was over the moon.  Brandie must have booked the moment she found out she was pregnant last year because I have been waiting quite some time to meet this baby! I got the message from Jessica that Brandie delivered a sweet baby BOY three weeks early! So lucky me, I got to see this sweet family earlier than anticipated.  Introducing Luke Joseph, a little over 5 lbs of perfection.  Mom followed my instructions PERFECTLY, and when they arrived I got to swoon over him for a second then quickly got started.  Well not a peep for about 2 hours.  I got through all of my standard poses and then some because he was SUCH a good sleeper.

All of my sessions start with the potato sac pose, one of my favorites because it perfectly showcases baby’s sweet face.

I love how curly they are when they are brand new.  He looks like a little hook.

Some of my most favorite photos from my newborn sessions are macro shots.  These highlight those teeny tiny features that many new moms spent hours memorizing.  Perfectly formed fingers and lips and toes.  I’m just in awe at God’s work every time I get the opportunity to photograph one of his tiny miracles.

I didn’t book March babies because of an important deadline at my other job as a scientist so little Luke got to model my Easter set up.

Last but not least, I got to photograph a special moment.  The very beginning of a special relationship between a mom and dad and their new son.
