Oh what an evening this was!

We have had rain EVERY day just about since April.  The day will start off beautiful and there will be no rain in the forecast and then out of no where a rain cloud will appear.  I have had to reschedule so many sessions this summer and Jayne’s family session was no exception.  We had already rescheduled once because of the rain.  It was a beautiful day but as I was getting ready to leave for their session I heard thunder…..but it didn’t look too bad so I set out.  Initially we had planned to have their session at Fairview State Park in Madisonville because that is where their adorable cousin Lily had her session a few weeks ago and they loved it.  Lily is one of my favorite gal’s…..always so sweet and stylish.  You can see more of her session here.

As I am driving towards the park the clouds opened up and it down poured.  I could see blue sky in the other direction so I called Jayne and we decided to move their session to Fontainebleau State Park.   I watched as the raindrops slowed down then came to a stop by the time I arrived at the park.  My goodness I was so relieved!

I definitely believe things happen for a reason.  Fontainebleau has big beautiful oak trees and these girls were climbers!  They immediately started climbing and didn’t stop until we left.  I adore how these came out.  Jayne looked so beautiful with her girls.

The big oak trees we have in Louisiana are nothing short of amazing.  I love how tiny the girls look in comparison.

It turned out to be the perfect evening.  I think the rain cooled things off a bit for us and the girls had a blast running around and climbing the big roots of the oaks.

So grateful for the opportunity to photograph this sweet family.
