I have been looking forward to this session for months. It was one where my two jobs collided. Some of you may know that I am also a teacher at an all girls high school. It is a job that I adore just as much as my photography. Wendy is my bestie up there. Everyone needs a friend like her. The kind you can pop in at any hour and vent, chat, gossip, have cream cheese parties lol.

We have literally been planning this for months….what outfits to wear, what location to shoot at. So I was so excited when the day finally came so that I could create something beautiful for her.

Bertucci Family 2019

With two sons growing up so quickly right before their eyes, now was as good of a time as any to capture them as a family. We initially planned to go to Fontainebleau State Park in Mandeville but of course we had a monsoon on Saturday so we moved their session to Sunday in downtown Covington. I am so glad we did because there are so many hidden little gems around there. We started their session at our school. Literally right where I park every day. I adore these trees. We have the prettiest campus.

Then the prayer garden at school…..another place I have been scoping out every day at work. I wanted to take Harley and still might. I think she’s kinda over pictures by flowers this spring as we have hit up pretty much every blooming bush in sight.

Next stop was an enchanted forest with beautiful wildflowers blooming….aka empty lot behind the church.

At this point I think they stopped wondering where the crazy photographer was going to bring them and just followed lol. They had a beautiful grey toned tree by a sidewalk so that’s where we stopped next.

Last stop was a new favorite place of mine off of Boston St. I love the color blue in the trim of this building and it matched Wendy’s scarf perfectly. She did such a good job styling her family. A+, Wendy 🙂

Aren’t they the sweetest?!?

Wendy’s oldest baby, Peter, will be graduating high school next week. It’s a reality that I will be facing next year and it breaks my heart. As much as we can drive each other crazy, I’m so sad thinking about her not being home with us every night. Why is childhood so short?

Jack is the one that keeps everyone laughing. It must be a trait of the baby of the family because my sister was hilarious and Harley is always trying to make us smile.
