Covington maternity photographer {Cheyenne}

This was just the sweetest maternity session……when if finally happened. If you live in Louisiana you know. Our summer forecast is so unpredictable. The apps will say 20% chance of rain then out of nowhere a massive thunderstorm. We usually have showers every afternoon but this year has been especially wet.

During the summer when I’m not teaching it is so nice because I can do weekday sessions. We had planned to meet at the studio one weekday afternoon. The weather looked great and I gave Cheyenne the ok. She had a nature theme for the nursery so the studio property was going to be perfect. My husband came home and said the weather was about to get bad. What?!!! Are you kidding? So I called Cheyenne and suggested we move her session to downtown Covington because even if it drizzles it’s a lot of concrete so we would be ok. When I left I thought man this isn’t looking good. The second we both pulled up, the clouds opened up. And not just a little bit, the heaviest downpour all summer. Big ole fat raindrops. I felt so bad.

So naturally, we had to reschedule. We were kind of in a time crunch because we were like two weeks from her due date and you know babies don’t wait on anyone and they come when they want. We rescheduled her session for the following Monday. It was damp but luckily the rain held off. It was actually the most perfect weather. Not so miserably hot and no bright direct sunlight making the landscape extra green and beautiful. I adore everything about her session.

With the nursery having a nature theme this backdrop couldn’t be more perfect. They weren’t finding out the sex of the baby (you will have to check out my future blog posts to find out) so the green of her dress was the perfect neutral.

Aren’t they the sweetest?! I couldn’t wait to find out what they were having….you will have to wait and see but the newborn session “matched” this one and I’m obsessed!

So grateful for my sweet clients that trust me to capture these special moments.
