Atlas 3 months {Mandeville newborn photographer}
As we all know babies come when they want to. You can plan and plan and plan but in the end they always surprise us. Alexis had a maternity session scheduled with me in October of last year and baby Atlas was on my calendar for a December 16th due date. Well….plans changed.
I had messaged Alexis to touch base with her about her upcoming maternity session and she told me the news that Atlas had arrived early and was in the NICU. My heart sank. Mostly out of worry for Atlas and his momma because of the risks associated with being pre-term. He came home from the hospital healthy as can be in December around his due date but he couldn’t leave the house for 6 weeks. I totally would have made the exception and had their session in their home but Alexis decided to wait to come to me.
So we planned his session for after the new year which put him at just over three months old (roughly one month corrected). He still acted very much like a newborn but he was huge!! He was eleven pounds when I got my hands on him. I couldn’t wait to meet him.
He was just about the cutest thing ever. Mom and Dad did a great job prepping him for his session because not only did he sleep like a champ, but he gave the sweetest smiles!
The best part about waiting to have his newborn session…….those cheeks!
Because he was three months old and already nice and stretched out, I had to keep him pretty wrapped up so he would stay asleep. But I can’t complain…There is nothing I love more than a baby in a basket.
Again…..those cheeks….
This little guy seriously was amazing right through the parent shots. Poor mommas arm holding up that sweet 11 lb baby but oh my goodness how sweet did they come out??
