1 week old Amelia (New Orleans newborn photographer)

I couldn’t wait to meet Miss Amelia for her newborn session. Her daddy was a surgical fellow in the lab where I did my graduate work. It was so good seeing him and his beautiful wife. They came from New Orleans for their session and Amelia was PERFECT! Her mom revealed that her secret was a cold baby wipe gently rubbed on her face and blowing on it to keep her up. Take notes, friends. It worked perfectly!

This baby was ALL smiles! This was the FIRST picture in my camera.

I think she gets her beautiful silky hair and long fingers from her momma and for sure her eyes from her daddy. The perfect combination!

I usually spend the most time on a pose that baby is most comfortable with. So this can vary from session to session. For Miss Amelia, she was perfectly content in her parents arms. So that’s where she stayed for a while.

mother smelling newborn — I think this is one of those images that you go back to after your tiny baby grows into a busy toddler and you can imagine how soft her little fuzzy face was against your lips and that sweet smell of her newborn goodness you are breathing in. Perfect.

Seriously? Can you believe how good this momma looks after having a baby?? I swear I don’t screen my clients! I get to photograph the MOST beautiful new mothers.

I was secretly happy she a week early so her session was before Easter and I could use this adorable bunny hat from Two Crafty Mama’s! LOVE!

And every pose after that she was just perfect.

I think she gets her lashes from her momma too. Lashes for days and days and days….
